Research topics

Hydrogels and joint microenvironment

My research interest lies in bioengineering approaches to orchestrate molecular and physical signals that regulate cell fate and recapitulate the cellular microenvironment's complexity.  My most recent works have focused on innovative hydrogels as i) carriers of cells or bioactive molecules in the context of the intervertebral disc disease and osteoarthritis and ii) biofabrication tools for developing in vitro models.
